A mic preamp converts a very weak audio signal into a signal strong enough for the encoders in your audio interface to pick it up in a usable way. Whats your goal for the preamp? Are you using a simulation to get a sound that the preamp gives, or are you trying to use software to do the purpose of a preamp boosting the analog signal?
If you are trying to use the preamp for its purpose then you NEED hardware. Preamps amplify mic level signals to line level signals. This can't be done post conversion.
